GREAT GOLF IN THE BAY AREA
IS EASY TO FIND WITH SEVEN SPECTACULAR COURSES!
All within 30 kilometers, and
two phenomenal courses on the south coast, making locating a course to suit your tastes a short drive away.
Below is a short description of the 3 courses nearest Bucerias. You will find an
update below.
1. Flamingos Golf Course & Country Club:
10
minutes after driving south of Bucerias you will be on the green. The new
ownership of Flamingos is dedicated to improving the quality of the course and
the area. They have recently completed a new club house and pro shop. Plans
include improving and expanding the irrigation system.
The feeling of openness is just one of the many
feelings you will experience when playing a round of golf here. Flamingos has
fairways that surround most of the greens, so chipping will play a big role on
these undulating greens. This alone will add to the excitement and challenge of
this well-groomed masterpiece. The reason for this is that we utilized closely
mowed areas around the greens to bring into play the challenge of chipping that
has been traditional at the better, older courses. The greens are very receptive
to this. Additionally, we tried to make shots not only visually exciting, but
challenging for all levels of players with all aspects of the game requiring
attention. The fairway landing areas are quite generous, 40 yards wide on
average. Some holes can be very challenging, and golfers generally will use
every club in their bag. This course, with 3 sets of tees to accommodate players
of all levels, offers championship playing conditions sunrise to sunset, all
year long.
2. Paradise
Village Golf Course, " El Tigre"
Designed
by: Von Hagge
The EL TIGRE golf course itself has been
lightheartedly described as “… one of the most challenging in Mexico”, yet the
course overall is considered forgiving even by less experienced golfers. Come
play a course unlike any you have played before. Make EL TIGRE yet another
reason to stay a week, a month or a lifetime at Paradise Village!
Proper golf attire is required.
3. Four Seasons at Punta Mita
About a
1/2 hour's drive north of Bucerias, on Mexico's Pacific Coast, you will find
Punta Mita, and the Four Seasons Resort. From the entrance of the resort
property to the club house is about another 10 minute drive.
When Jack Nicklaus designed the course for the
Four Season Resort at Punta Mita, he did something unique. He used a small
island, about 175 yards offshore, for one of the greens. It is surrounded by
what has to be the bigger water hazard in the world, the Pacific Ocean, and is
the only natural island green in the world. Hole number 3 is considered by many
to be one of the most beautiful holes in the world. If the tide is too high, or
the water too rough for the small boat to take you to the island, there is an
alternate green. Either way, playing the Four Seasons Golf Course will be an
experience that will live on in memory.
Since
this is a semi- private course, intended for the hotel guests of the Four
Seasons Resort and golf club members , it is not played as heavily as most
public courses. Club Rental $35.00
Shoe Rental $15.00 (Four Seasons is a soft
spike facility)
Caddies not available in this course.
